Comunidad Valencia (Comunidad Valencia) is an autonomous community in the east of Spain. It is situated between the Sénia and Segura rivers, it has 518 kilometers of coastline on the Mediterranean and covers 23.254 km² of land with ca 4.5 million inhabitants. The Columbretes islands and Nova Tabarca form also part of Valencia. In this autonomous community are three provinces: València - total area 10.806 km², population 2.416.628, it has 265 municipal areas. Valencia lies in the central part of the Comunidad Valencia. It borders on the provinces of Alicante, Albacete, Cuenca, Castellón, and the Mediterranean Sea. Part of its habitat, the Rincón de Ademuz, is situated between the provinces of Cuenca and Teruel. The province has a coast line of 135 km long and its highest mountain tops are reaching 1837 meters. One-third of the province population lives in the capital, Valencia, which is also the capital of the autonomous community. It has a medium-sized port city (the third largest city in Spain) and industrial area on the Costa del Azahar in Spain. Castellón - total area 6.632 km², population 543.432, has 135 municipal areas. Castellón is located in the northern part of the Comunidad Valencia. It borders the provinces of Valencia, Teruel, Tarragona, and the Mediterranean Sea. The coast line of this province is 139 km long and its mountain peaks are reaching 1814 meters. Its capital is Castellón de la Plana. This city is situated on the Costa del Azahar by the Mediterranean Sea. 30% of the population lives in the capital. Other important cities of the province are Vilarreal, Burriana and Vinaròs. Alicante. - total area 5.817 km², population 1.732.389. Geographically, the L’ Alacanti is made up of a semicircle of mountain ranges that surround the capital of Alicante city, a major port and a thriving modern city. The highest mountain peak is reaching 1558 meters high. L’Alacanti’s tourist resorts are renowned; thousands upon thousands of people are drawn here each summer to absorb themselves in the fantastic surroundings that Alicante has to offer. Because of the 244 km stretching coastline with a beautiful climate, white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, there is are an enormous range of watersports on offer in the area. Inland are the famous orange groves of the Valencia oranges and forests of date palms. The airport (code ALC) is 10 kilometres from the city centre just off the A7 which will also take you to the French border. The national N340 road will connect you to Valencia and Barcelona.
